WHO WE ARE

THE SHOP OF ANCIENT FLAVOURS

The Story - Since 1991

"Our goal has always been to let our customers enjoy a complete food and wine journey.

In 1991 the adventure began with the historic Gourmet Shop “la Bottega degli Antichi Sapori” by Giorgio and Guido, one of a kind, which includes the sale of high quality products, coming from the rich Aosta Valley, Italian and international food and wine scene. In 2012 the taste experience expands. The excellent raw materials become dishes, the bottles on sale from the cellar also pass into the glasses. The Bar à Vin is born, the first hot food shop inside a taste shop.

Both Bottega degli Antichi Sapori and Bar à Vin are awarded by the best Italian guides such as “Il Gambero Rosso” or “Le Guide de L'Espresso” for their coherence and consistency in offering high-level experiences."

THE GRENETTE

The Bottega restaurant

Once upon a time there was the ancient grain market in Aosta.

In the square in front of our restaurant, every week men and women gathered to sell and buy cereals. From here, the name “La Grenette”, small seed, was born; in fact, everything in our restaurant refers to tradition, from the ancient agricultural tools hanging on the walls, to the menu that reinterprets the typical recipes of Italian cuisine.

THE WINE BAR

Aosta Valley Cuisine

In the Bar à vin, in addition to the culinary tradition of the Aosta Valley, we try to recover the old “poor” recipes that embody the true and genuine tastes of our country: from tripe to cotechino, from gnocchi to tagliatella. And, as always, we do it “our way”, reinterpreting the teachings to give even more personality to the dishes and make them new and engaging taste experiences.

If you are wondering where to eat typical Aosta Valley food in Aosta, here you are: in our menu, local cuisine reigns supreme, with its game aromas, the opalescent colors of stream fish, the fragrant aroma of black bread baked in village ovens.

And then there are them, the mountain cheeses, accompanied by the finest cold cuts of the valley, from the Lardo d'Arnad to the hams of the Coumba Freida, excellent products famous throughout the world, which are kept in good company by the golden grains of polenta, or the tasty aromas of the Valpellinentze soup, which has been handed down from grandparents to grandchildren for generations.
